In the spirit of procrastination, I was searching for poetry and from poetry I reminded myself, for whatever reason, to this old drawing I did when I was in high school (or junior high?). I don't have it with me, but I remembered that I had posted it to an old website of mine. So, I remembered my address (so not sharing that here), and i found the drawing. More importantly, and concerning this post, was that I found links to old poems of mine.
I use fictionpress.com and I was pretty sure that all my merit worthy poems (and some not so merit worthy) were posted there. But I found a couple that I hadn't remembered since... well... probably since I wrote them.
One of them really caught my attention and it is currently my favorite:
Granted... I wrote it in tenth grade, and I think it was for a class.
And here it is:
The mystery of I
It is without a doubt,
That me a rare creature am
Only one feeling is expressed
within the borders of one smile
But gamut of feelings is left
within the sound of my cry
It is without a doubt,
that I'm the rarest creature to be found
For my feet are not on the ground
But my heart is buried deep
within the soil that try
to catch my feet
The mystery of I
is just a veil to impress
For I'm like any other
trying to comple this quest
It is within these thoughts
Where I find myself and lose it all
So, let me dream, let me live
Let me think for another day
that hope surrounds us
come what may.
